Spring 2017 | Fendt 724 Vario black on tracks ploughing | De Zeeuw

Last autumn Dutch arable farm De Zeeuw fitted their black Fendt 724 Vario with four Zuidberg tracks. Its front role is ploughing with a new Lemken Diamant 11 seven furrow plough. It is seen during the spring ploughing campaign, hard at work turning over a field destined for carrots.

The 240 HP Fendt 724 Vario can easily master the big plough on this light clay soil. The tracks give a perfect balance and front weights aren’t even required. Fuel usage was a very respectable 17L/ha. Track manufacturer Zuidberg, who took over production from Westtrack, are only a few miles away from where this outfit was working.

Both the tractor and the plough are controlled using Trimble RTK-GPS, with an accuracy of up to 2 cm. In the cab you can see the TMX-2050 terminal. The plough has its own GPS receiver, which was fitted by Dutch importer Agrometius. It is the first of its kind.
